Tribevine.com Open Beta Launch Coming Up
Outdoor and sports gear information focused tribevine.com service will move into the open beta phase on April 4th 2011, enabling the access to the whole internet audience. During the six month long closed beta period, tribevine.com has been developed together with carefully selected outdoor and sports professionals. Initially, the focus is on extreme-, mountain- and snow-sports gear. Already the service contains information about a wider selection of products such as ropes, avalanche transceivers and high altitude mountaineering boots than any other service in the web.
"Tribevine.com has been received well by closed beta users. There are several unique features in the service. For instance, it automatically estimates the level of product knowledge of each user which is very important from the information quality point of view." said Juho Risku, CEO of Tribevine, Inc. Tribevine.com functions on a crowd sourcing principle; the combined information from sources, such as brand owners and web stores, is refined by the expert community. The goal of the service is to combine the experiences of the most knowledgeable individuals around the globe and bring it to millions of users worldwide, thus helping the end-users to select the exact products that suit their interests the best.
Simultaneously with the launch of the open beta starts a competition which rewards with valuable gear the users who have produced the most valuable content to the service. Also the scope of products and sports genres will be expanded significantly during the upcoming months.
