These are well made, with good padding over the knuckles. The materials that it has been constructed with are top notch and they are just the job for extreme cold situations. Basically they are one step below the kind of cold where you do not have the option but to wear heavy mitts, and compared to them you can still fit crampons, adjust rucksacks, use a compass to take bearing etc. I also really like the cuffs which go over or under a jacket dependent on what you are doing. I would recommend them, but they are expensive - I would not bother with them if I was just skiing on a resort - but if you are going away for long trip- great! The removable liners does help with drying them out as can put these next to the body in a sleeping bag, while leaving the outside element in your ruck sack.
