I'm a big fan of the Triggers and rate them as offering more off a performance increase than Horns. In common with Horns, Triggers give enough of an improvement in grip when hanging to go leashless fine. However they go further than Horns in that Triggers also markedly improve the general stability of your grip leading to a smoother, more controlled swing and better presentation of the pick to the ice. I have these on my DMM Xeno axes and they are secure, comfortable and very useful.

.....with enough time and effort you can convince this trigger to fit onto most ice axes....the question is why should you bother then the Petzl trigrest is a lot more comfortable and easy to fit?

It's ok, feels a bit cheap and can be a real pain in the backside to fit onto your axes, you really do need patience.

It's very solid, well built and long lasting trigger, but on the other hand requires plenty of patience to fit into axe shaft. This applies even on Grivel axes for which this one is built for. So prepare to use quite a bit of force, get extra piece of rubber under it + do several tricks... and you're there, in some cases we've even broken one or two of these within assembly. It's so difficult to get there. Once assembled, it's there and does it's job... oh, one more thing, I've been wondering the shape of the plastic parts, couldn't figure any real reason for the upward striking plastic parts, at least not from the ergonomics stand point + as they're metal they're kind of cold.
