So far these are my favorite shoes. They have good grip, and an agressive stance without too much of a downturned toe. I wore these for several months on all sorts of climbs, from sandstone slab to granite face and they performed amazing! They do lose the toe fairly quickly though if you do a lot of toe work, so be warned.

I have tried several chalks, and of them metolius makes the best. It's super fine, and sticks to the skin better than the others, and very rarely has chunks that need to be broken up. However, the ability of it to stick also makes the user go through it fairly quickly , which is something to keep in mind when buying chalk.
